Each annual report also highlight opportunities to bridge the emissions gap, tackling a specific issue of interest. With the aim to inform the climate negotiations among UN Member States, the EGR is launched every year in the week before the UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP) takes place. Over the past decade, a total of thirteen reports have been produced. The EGR is co-produced with the UNEP DTU Partnership (UDP). The reduction of methane emissions from the fossil fuel, waste and agriculture sectors could help close the emissions gap and reduce warming in the short term. It also provides an in-depth analysis of a selected issue of interest. With the aim to inform the climate negotiations among UN Member States, the EGR is launched every year in the first week of the UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP). Over the past years, a total of seven reports have been produced. The AGR is co-produced with the UNEP DTU Partnership (UDP) and the UN-led World Adaptation Science Programme (WASP). There is an urgent need to step up climate adaptation finance. The briefs provide the latest scientific information and knowledge necessary to underpin effective adaptation to climate change. In this way, they help researchers, policy-makers and practitioners to successfully bridge the science-policy-action interface. Hence, they help build capacity across a variety of stakeholders by enabling them to implement science-based action for a less vulnerable and more resilient planet for all. The resulting synthesis communicates how climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution can be tackled jointly within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals. It led to the development of a report that focuses on lessons for better land management taking into account climate mitigation co-benefits. It discusses accounting tools for carbon and other greenhouse gases that result from land management and how carbon can be captured to mitigate climate change. The resulting synthesis communicates how climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution can be tackled jointly within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals.
