Climate change mitigation in the ELP: Guidance and tool Protocols. Measuring the climate change mitigation potential of the Endangered Landscape Programme

The large-scale restoration of habitats including forests, peatlands and wetlands offers opportunities to tackle the twin crises of anthropogenic climate change and global biodiversity loss. It is therefore critical that restoration projects can maximise their climate change mitigation potenti...

short_description This document sets out the ethos, tools, and methods used to provide a greenhouse gas (GHG) balance estimate for restoration projects within the Endangered Landscapes Programme. The document is intended to provide guidance on using two GHG assessment tools, EX-ACT and Carbon Benefits Project toolkit to estimate the climate change mitigation benefit of landscape-scale restoration projects and the restoration activities they include.
