short_description This paper reviews the need for assessing impacts of trade on biodiversity in the agriculture sector, taking into account the linkages among biodiversity, farming and poverty alleviation and the scale of impacts from agriculture on ‘important biodiversity’. It summarises some of the ways in which trade-related policies, agreements and measures can act as drivers for impacts of agriculture on biodiversity, and then sets out some key considerations for biodiversity-inclusive trade policies.
