Natural disasters, people affected

Affected people are those requiring immediate assistance during a natural disaster-related emergency including food, water, shelter, sanitation and immediate medical assistance. The definition includes cases of infectious disease introduced in a region or a population that is normally free from that disease, expressed as thousands in a year or average number in thousands over a period of years.
