Water withdrawal intensity (SCP Indicator 4)

It measures the ratio between total freshwater withdrawn by all major sectors (agriculture; forestry and fishing; manufacturing; electricity industry; and services) and the total renewable freshwater resources, after taking into account environmental water flow requirements. This indicator is tracked by MedWaves (UNEP/MAP SCP/RAC) and is part of the Regional Action Plan on Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) in the Mediterranean.
