Total capture - state in 2018 (MSSD Indicator 8)

The percentage of stocks in overexploitation was around 65% in 2008. It culminated to around 88% from 2012 to 2014 and was close to 75% in 2018. Moreover, an increase in biomass levels is observed in 6 out of 18 stocks, and 46% of assessed stocks now have high relative biomass. A corner is finally being turned on overexploitation of fish stocks in the region's vital fisheries.
