| source_abstract | This dataset contains coverage of strategic point water sources within Somalia. The data was captured using the Somalia Water Sources Information Management System – (SWIMS). SWIMS is a system for managing water sources information effectively. It consists of three elements – a network of partners, a field data collection toolkit and a software package. In the period between 2008-2009 SWALIM undertook a survey of the strategic point water sources in Somalia and a total of over 2 250 sources were captured. For each of the sources; essential parameters were recorded such as information on location, water characteristics, functionality, supply and distribution, physical parameters and the management. |
