Estimated Number of Acutely Malnourished Children by region during Gu season 2017 (FSNAU - 2017)

Results from 31 nutrition surveys conducted during Gu season in 2017 indicate that approximately 388 000 children under the age of five are acutely malnourished in June and July 2017 (prevalence). This includes 301 000 moderately malnourished (MAM) and 87 000 severely malnourished (SAM) children. The data are in the frame of the Drought Impact and Needs Assessment (DINA) carried out in Somalia by the Federal Government of Somalia, with the support of the United Nations, the World Bank and the European Union. Administrative boundaries were provided by GAUL.
