Selected villages in Sudan EL Golid (GCCA+ 2019)

Elgolid, like the rest of Northern State, is facing an increase of average temperatures that in combination with strong wind accelerates desertification and loss of vegetation, giving leeway to sand movement and sand dune development. The villages have been selected because of their high level of degradation of forest and farming areas, which is more acute in the East bank; and their accessibility, trying to group close villages to make easier the access and try to found synergies in the implementation. A first selection of the villages was proposed by the government to be verified by the SRCS team.
