Renewable electricity-generating capacity - Period 2005 - 2018 (SCP Indicator 10)

It measures the installed capacity of power plants that generate electricity from renewable energy sources divided by the total population of a country. Renewable energy sources are as defined in the IRENA Statute: bioenergy, geothermal, hydropower, ocean (tidal and wave), solar (photovoltaic and thermal) and wind energy. This indicator provides a comparison of investments among countries. This indicator is tracked by MedWaves (UNEP/MAP SCP/RAC) and is part of the Regional Action Plan on Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) in the Mediterranean.
