Public expenditure on research and development expenditure in 2018 (MSSD Indicator 26)

Since the beginning of XXI century, the amount of national public expenditures on R&D expressed as a % of GDP is increasing on most Mediterranean countries. In average, Mediterranean countries spent 1.3% of their GDP on research and development in 2018 and these expenditures are increasing. The expenditure in EU-27 countries is stabilized around 2.1% of GDP.
