Market Functioning in Feb 2017 (FEWS - 2017)

Source: FEWS, A Famine (IPC Phase 5) is likely occurring in parts of Unity State. Retrieved from FEWS NET [http://fews.net/east-africa/south-sudan/food-security-outlook/february-2017]

Food production has been disrupted with the displacement of farmers due to the conflict, the destruction of scarce farm capital and the interruption of transportation networks for food distribution. With access to markets impeded, households are unable to acquire goods. Even when the insecurity subsides, returning communities have found their land occupied by oil production or new influxes of people.
