| source_abstract | Land cover is the physical material at the surface of the earth. Land cover includes grass, asphalt, trees, bare ground, water, etc. The land cover map of the riverine areas forms the most recent, most detailed and most consistent data set produced by SWALIM. The map is result of exhaustive aerial photograph interpretation by SWALIM experts. However, the map gives more attention to the cropped areas, giving the crop type and acreage. The final map has been aggregated into few manageable land cover classes. Among the striking features of the map are the areas that were once cropped and now remain abandoned. |
