| source_abstract | This spatial dataset is created at UNEP-GRID-Geneva after the jointure between the spatial dataset with region boundaries and the xls file on population estimates for 2014 for Somalia. The database associated to the region administrative boundaries was slightly edited in order to match with the xls file on population estimates. Nevertheless, the files had an excellent correspondence and only needed minor editing. Information on district administrative areas: The spatial dataset is provided by GAUL database of Global Administrative Areas. http://www.fao.org/geonetwork/srv/en/metadata.show?id=12691 Information on Population Estimation Survey of Somalia PESS 2013-2014: This xls dataset is provided by OCHA and is downloadable at https://data.humdata.org/dataset/somalia-population-data. The survey covered regions as they were defined prior to 1986. |
