Twelfth meeting of the Chemical Review Committee of the Rotterdam Convention (CRC.12)

Venue: Headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Viale delle Terme di Caracalla, 00153 Rome, Italy.Highlights: The twelfth meeting of the Chemical Review Committee (CRC) of the Rotterdam Convention will meet from 14 to 16 September 2016 at the FAO headquarters in Rome, Italy. Pre-meetings of the intersessional task groups will take place on 13 September 2016. CRC-12 is organized back-to-back with the twelfth meeting of the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee (POPRC) of the Stockholm Convention, convening at the same venue from 19 to 23 September 2016.The Committee will consider, among others, draft decision guidance documents on carbofuran and carbosulfan, two chemicals that CRC.11 has proposed for listing in Annex III to the Convention. Additionally, the Committee will consider notifications of final regulatory action for atrazine (a decision on this chemical was deferred by CRC.11 to CRC.12), benzidine and hexachlorobenzene, as well as a proposal for the inclusion of carbofuran suspension concentrate 330 g/L as a severely hazardous pesticide formulation in Annex III.
