Second Meeting of the Multi-Stakeholder Energy Task Force

The Second Meeting of the Multi-stakeholder Task Force on Reconciling Selected Energy Sector Developments with Migratory Species Conservation is scheduled to be held from 14 to 15 September 2017 in Bonn, Germany.

The Energy Task Force met for the first time in Cape Town, South Africa, from 1 to 2 December 2016. The meeting developed and agreed on a Work Plan for 2017-2018 including a detailed Outreach Plan, based on the Terms of Reference of the Energy Task Force (Work Plan 2017-2018). The Second Meeting of the Energy Task Force is expected to assess progress in, and provide guidance towards the implementation of the Programme of Work including any adjustment as needed. It will discuss and agree on input to be submitted to the 12th Meeting of the Conference of Parties of CMS.

The Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, through the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB) were recognized as Champion Plus for their generous support and commitment towards Reconciling Energy Sector Developments with Migratory Species Conservation for the period 2015-2017. The Energy Task Force has been funded with the contribution granted by Germany under the Migratory Species Champion Programme.
