Asia and the Pacific regional preparatory meeting for COP3

Asia and the Pacific regional meeting in Bangkok, Thailand, was attended by a total of seventy-three participants. Among these, forty-six participants represented twenty-four governments (China, India, Indonesia, Islamic Republic of Iran, Japan, Jordan, Kiribati, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Lebanon, Maldives, Myanmar, Philippines, Qatar, Samoa, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, State of Palestine, Syrian Arab Republic, Thailand, Tonga, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and Vietnam) in the region. The remaining twenty-seven participants represented two UN bodies (UNDP and UNEP), two Basel and Stockholm Convention regional centres, and fourteen NGOs.
