Ombudspersons for Future Generations: A proposal for Rio+20 -UNEP Perspectives No. 6

The proposal for an international Ombudsperson or High Commissioner for Future Generations is included in the first draft of the Zero Draft, “The Future We Want”. The proposal has broad support and interest is growing. Many Governments and UN institutions are considering the need for this role, and the potential it can offer.
