Subregional Cooperation for Strengthening Marine Protected Areas in North-East Asia

This document contributes to strengthening subregional cooperation to address challenges in protecting the marine environment in Northeast Asia by providing an overview on Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) in North-East Asia; inadequacies in existing MPA management structures; how MPA networks can be used as a tool to facilitate cooperation; and the launching of a North-East Asian MPA Network.
