Report of the Sub-Regional Awareness Raising Workshop on the Prior Informed Consent Procedure, Persistent Organic Pollutants and the Basel and Waigani Conventions

A Subregional Awareness Raising Workshop on the Rotterdam Convention on the Prior Informed Consent (PIC) Procedure for certain hazardous chemicals and pesticides in international trade, Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) and the Basel/Waigani Conventions was organised by UNEP Chemicals, Geneva, Switzerland, in collaboration with the South Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP), Apia, Samoa. The meeting was organised within the framework of the UNEP Chemicals capacity building programme aimed at providing assistance to developing countries and countries with economies in transition, in strengthening their national chemical management programmes
