The International Coral Reef Initiative (ICRI) was launched in 1994 as a partnership of developing and industrialized governments, non-government organizations (NGOs), international organizations, multilateral development banks and private sector aimed towards conservation, sustainable use and effective management of coral reefs and their associated ecosystems.
