Marine Environmental Centres: South Pacific

This publication is a contribution to the UNEP sponsored regional Action Plan for managing the natural resources and environment of the South Pacific region adopted at the Conference on the Human Environment in the South Pacific (Raratonga, 8-11 March 1982)*. This Directory, compiled under the auspices of the UNEP financed project (FP/5102-84-06), is a product of the Aquatic Sciences and Fisheries information System (ASFS) coordinated by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). FAO circulated questionnaires to marine environment institutes in the States participating in Action Plan for managing the natural resources and environment, of the South Pacific Region, collated the replies received and entered then into the Institutions Register of ASFIS. which had been modified to conform with Regional Seas needs.
