Light for Life: Identifying and Reducing the Health and Safety Impacts of Fuel-Based Lighting

Energy efficient, off-grid lighting solutions offer the most promising and scalable means to eliminate adverse health outcomes associated with fuel-based lighting, while lowering the costs and reducing greenhouse-gas emissions. This study suggests next steps and policy options to improve the lives of people who depend on off-grid lighting services. Policies and programs seeking the greatest possible benefit should target the most impacted geographical and demographic user groups.
