Back to life: environmental management of the Iraqi marshlands

As an awareness raising tool, the booklet tells why the Iraqi Marshlands are important not only for the Marsh Arabs and its habitat but also for the world environment. It provides a brief description of UNEP's activities to help manage and restore the Iraqi Marshlands such as data collection and baseline analysis, capacity building and pilot implementation. UNEP's coordination role and the UN Iraq Trust Fund mechanism are outlined.
