It is generally accepted that meaningful property metrics are central to the fight against carbon emissions. Without them, property investors and government policy makers can neither under­ stand the current environmental performance of existing and new buildings nor gauge the rate of progress being made to reduce their harmful greenhouse gas emissions and other environmental impacts.
