Alternative Domestic Energy Options for Darfur: A Review

The main objective of the Darfur Alternative Energy Project (DAEP) was to undertake a review of the current situation, including an economic and policy analysis, with a view to identifying viable and appropriate alternative energy options that could reduce the consumption of fuelwood and charcoal and hence slow deforestation in Darfur. This review is based on extensive background research, consultations and field missions.
