The protection and development of the marine environment and the coastal areas of the Region for the benefit of present and future generations are the central objective of the Action Plan. This Action Plan sets forth a framework for an environmentally sound and comprehensive approach to coastal area development, particularly appropriate for this rapidly developing Region.
