Maximising Climate Benefits of HCFC Phase-out in the Refrigeration Servicing Sector - Fact sheet No. 36

Decision XIX/6 of the Nineteenth Meeting of the Parties to the Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer accelerated the phase-out of production and consumption of hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs), by way of adjustment. The Decision also encouraged Parties “to promote the selection of alternatives to HCFCs that minimize environmental impacts, in particular, impacts on climate, as well as meeting other health, safety and economic considerations.
