Sub-regional DNA training on notification of final regulatory actions under the Rotterdam Convention

The meeting was opened by the Mr. Khalid Cassam from the host Party and the Secretariat staff Brief overview of the obligations and the provisions under the Convention with the focus of Article 5, Annex I information requirements, Annex II criteria for listing chemicals in Annex III Overview of the various toolkits and data sources with scientific and technical information, with emphasis on the FRA evaluation toolkit prior the start of the practical work Participants presented national regulatory management profiles on pesticides and industrial chemicals of their respective countries including capacities and institutional arrangements for risk assessment, as well as the lists with identified chemicals that were the focus of the practical work The chemicals that were identified, and for which the DNAs of the respective Parties started filling the notification forms with the required information in accordance to Annex I information requirements, hence pending review by the Secretariat, with the follow-up actions by the Parties are compiled in a table in Annex I.
