At ambient temperature, HCB is a white crystalline solid. Technical grade HCB is available as a wettable powder, liquid or dust. It is virtually insoluble in water, but is soluble in ether, benzene, chloroform and hot ethanol. HCB has a high octanol/water partition coefficient, low vapour pressure and low flammability.
