Islamic Republic of Afghanistan: Environment Law

Environmental Law in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan provides for the management of issues relating to rehabilitation of the environment and the conservation and sustainable use of natural resources, living organisms and non-living organisms. The primary purposes of this Act outlined are to: improve livelihoods and protect the health of humans, fauna and flora; maintain ecological functions and evolutionary processes; conserve natural and cultural heritage; and facilitate the reconstruction and sustainable development of the national economy.
