Seventh meeting of the expert working group on environmentally sound management

At its seventh meeting, the expert working group on environmentally sound management (ESM) will consider the relevant outcomes from the thirteenth meeting of the Conference of the Parties, which took place earlier in 2017. The Group will consider its 2018/19 work programme, as adopted by the Conference of the Parties, and progress its work on the development of tools for the ESM Toolkit. Such tools include i. practical manuals on: EPR and financing and ensuring that notifications of transboundary movements meet ESM requirements; ii. guidance on recycling and recovery; iii. guidance on how to address ESM in the informal sector, among others. The Governments of Germany and Japan are kindly funding the seventh face-to-face meeting of the expert working group. The meeting has been organized by the Secretariat of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions and will kindly be hosted by the Government of Ghana.
