The Regional Activity Centre for the Mediterranean Specially Protected Areas: Evaluation of its Development and Achievements - UNEP Regional Seas Reports and Studies No. 100

The Regional Activity Centre for Mediterranean Specially Protected Areas (RAC/SPA) was established in Tunis in 1985 to facilitate implementation of the provisions of the Protocol concerning Specially Protected Areas. The Protocol was adopted in Geneva in 1982 under the terms of the Convention for the Protection of the Mediterranean Sea against Pollution (see annex 1 for a summary of the events leading up to the approv111 of this project).
