Evaluation of the Contribution of UNDP to Environmental Management for Poverty Reduction: The Poverty and Environment Nexus, 2010

The ultimate purpose of this report is to enhance the integration of poverty reduction and environ- ment management into programmes of UNDP and the wider United Nations system. Many relevant initiatives, such as those addressing adaptation to climate change, are still evolving. For that reason, the evaluation aims to guide future work by highlighting both what has worked and what has not. The evaluation reconfirms the importance of addressing the poverty-environment nexus if the core goals in poverty reduction are to be achieved. But it notes that the policy has yet to be trans- lated into practice systematically.
