Korea Environmental Policy Bulletin - Korea’s National Green Growth Strategy and Environmental Policy

On August 15, 2008, during a presidential address to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Korea, Low-carbon Green Growth was declared as a national vision for the next 60 years. The Low-carbon Green Growth vision aims to shift the nation s growth paradigm from a fossil-fuel dependent growth paradigm to a quality-oriented growth paradigm with a focus on utilizing new and renewable energy sources and green technologies. As a road map for the Green Growth national vision, the Korean government presented the Green Growth National Strategy and Five-Year Plan to systematically and efficiently promote green growth.
