Mediterranean maritime protected areas (MSSD Indicator 7)

In 2018, there were a strong boost towards achieving the Aichi target 11 and the SDG 14 through the declaration of the Spanish cetacean corridor MAP. At the regional level 1.126 Marine Protected Area are declared, among them 257 have a national designation status (MAPAMED 2021).
